Kaleidoscopes

I hate to make something more than once. But this quilt pattern is the exception to that practice. In a 1985 McCall's Needlework and Crafts Magazine I found a quilt pattern called Kaleidoscope. I have made it four times. It is interesting to compare them side by side.

1
I made the first quilt just like the pattern.
It is actually a wallhanging that is 48" square.
2
For this one I reduced the pattern pieces by half.
I made this quilt as a fabric challenge.
If memory serves I did get viewer's choice.
3
Kaleidoscope 3 was completed in 1991. I don't
remember the occasion for making it unless it was
just to try it again with different fabrics.
4
This last 24" Kaleidoscope like the others was
hand pieced and hand quilted. It was made
for a fabric challenge in the summer of 2008.
